Price Scout is a Chrome extension that compares product prices on Takealot and Amazon.co.za with other South African shops.

What we collect

When you open a supported product page, the extension may send over HTTPS to our compare API:

• Product title, brand, model, barcode (if present on the page)
• Product id (ASIN or Takealot PLID)
• Listed price and product URL
• The shop you are currently viewing

We do not collect your name, email, passwords, payment details, or browsing history outside those product pages.

How we use it

• To find the same (or closely matching) product at other shops
• To rank and display price comparisons in the on-page panel
• To operate and improve matching quality

What we share

We do not sell your data. Product lookups may contact public retailer and search pages (for example Bing or Google) to discover listings. We do not share personal account data with those sites.

Storage on your device

The extension may cache recent compare results in Chrome local storage on your device so the panel can reload faster.
